“It can’t be true.”
I live in Southern California and I grew up delighted with the offerings from the Disney company. They had movies and of course they have that amazing jewel Disneyland. My family would go periodically and a good time was had and then at some point I became an adult and could go to Disneyland myself. And then if you go more than once a year, you might as well get the pass since the price of individual tickets are so high.*
Recently the Disney company has severely increased the price of the Annual Pass. The price of the premium pass is now the same as an unlocked iPhone 5. Of course they offer a convenient monthly payment plan, but my point is: This is a total waste of my money. Maybe I’m getting older and fickle.
This morning Disney sent me an email saying “It can’t be true.” and I want to let them know that yes, it absolutely can be true. You increased the price of a luxury good with diminishing marginal utility by 50%. It is obvious that the company’s intent was to decrease the amount of Annual Passholders, and I am only too glad to help them with that.
*The math isn’t correct.

I went to Vegas and forgot to update my travel tumblr
Looks like my epic #nycj trip for 2011 is coming to a close…

I don’t want to feel this way but I don’t really get a choice. I guess in hindsight I wasn’t aware of all of the consequences. Life still manages to surprise me. And if I had the chance to change my decision I wouldn’t want to.

A travel tumblr that isn’t updated
Well gee, tumblr it appears that I completely slacked off which isn’t too surprising but an update:
I’m not actually traveling which should be a really good excuse for not posting any updates. However it seems I forgot to fill in the end of my trip which is not what I should be doing right now because there is a book I need to finish.
But let’s see if I can still remember where I went in mostly the right order:
- Seattle
- Charlotte —> Smokey Mountains —> Dollywood
- New York
- Orlando
- Baltimore
- Boston
- Austin
- Portland
- Denver
- Las Vegas
I of course am neglecting Long Beach. And since then I’ve gone back to New York, via SeaTac and Newark… and I drove down to San Diego, but that wasn’t a trip. That was more like a jaunt.

Orlando Baltimore Boston Austin
I can’t keep track of where I am or when this is. Which is bad because I had a ‘oops I forgot to schedule a bed for tonight’ moment.
Orlando was fun and I’m pretty glad I went with people.
Baltimore was interesting and seeing Eric is always a good time.
Boston wasn’t god awful they just have too many tolls and other gotchas.
Austin was lovely. A shame some guy didn’t agree. Pretty much all I did today was go to a bookstore.
And now were playing ‘will I make my flight’ the answer should be explicitly yes because I still have 75 minutes and I think the bus is at the airport. Plus I had some drinks with Roby whom I haven’t seen in years. I think he claims six years. He could be right, we’re not as young as we used to be.

Boston sucks!
